Mix of the week: Fabric presents Sherelle

This week we look at a Mix CD from Fabric mixed by Sherelle. It’s a great showcase of the ‘160’ sound Sherelle champions, it’s a banging mix and the tune selection is excellent! Let’s dive in!

Of the many reasons why you should invest some money into this mix is the actual tunes. The tracklist spans from 1993 to 2021 kicking off with a pitched up Cloud 9 (Nookie) ‘You Got Me Burning’ before transitioning into the first act of this 3 part set featuring several monstrous slices of menacing Hardcore Jungle old and new.

Along with Cloud 9, 93 tunes from Qbass (Dan Donnely) and Aphrodite & Nutty Jim feature in a mix that shys away from new tunes for the most part, opting for tunes that stand the test of time.

There is of course, new and recent material like Sherelle’s own certified banger ‘Jungle Teknah’, the tongue in cheek 93 style ‘The Dark’ by Newkiller and fine contributions from Innercore, Gridzone, and Vince Rollin.

The midway point of the mix takes us on a journey of ‘160’ with tracks from the likes of DJ Rashad and Basic Rhythm before the final section of deep atmospheric Jungle from artists like Worldwide Epidemic and Tim Reaper.
