Get This On Vinyl- Eclectic Beats From GSQ

We’re back with another essential slice of vinyl for your shelf. It’s on pre-order now, so get your order in early.

This one comes from an Italian producer by the name of G.S.Q. It’s called Gelatology, and according to the blurb, it is a sample-based beat tape rooted in crate digging culture.

Gelatology also lends its name to a Quattro Bambole Records sub-catalogue, but enough label talk. This record is a straight love letter to crate digging, sample hunting, and old-school hip hop. But that’s enough of the blurb. This is a love letter to crate digging, sample hunting and beat making.

Behind the project is Francesco Fisotti, recording under the GSQ alias.

The record moves from Nigerian-inspired grooves to J Dilla tributes, from dusty rap instrumentals to Balearic beat work, then off into styles that refuse a label. It pulls from all over the globe, and if you love open-format DJ sets, this album alone gives you a full crate’s worth.

Get this on vinyl! (It’s the only way you can get it!)
