Her speciality? Curating an unforgettable musical experience. She mixes deep cuts & chart toppers from various genres (Afrobeats, Hip Hop, R&B, Pop, Dancehall, Reggaeton & more). Her crowd control, infectious energy and insane vibes result in unique sets with plenty of screw facing, gun fingers & closed-eye body swaying. Catch her if you can!Lyvonne took time to answer a few questions about her DJ career and the upcoming event:Can you walk us through your journey into the world of DJing? What sparked your passion for music and eventually led you to become a DJ?I’ve always loved music, I think my passion grew in the womb to be honest! I grew up in a house where the speakers were always blazing Reggae, Soca and Soul music. And I was constantly glued to the radio, listening to the best in Pop, R&B, Hip Hop, Dance, etc. As someone who really respects the artistry of DJing and live music performance, I’ve always loved watching people DJing and wanted to try it one day. When the opportunity to attend a free DJ workshop at On The Rise with Pioneer & Keshia G, I jumped at the chance. The rest is history. How do you stay inspired and creative in your sets, especially in a genre that’s always evolving?I am a naturally innovative and creative person, so the way I DJ will always be a natural projection of that. I’m always listening to new music or deep diving into an artist’s back catalogue. I like to take risks and go with my gut whilst playing out, and I’m great at reading the crowd and flowing off of their energy. Can you share one of your most memorable experiences performing live? What made it stand out for you?One of my most memorable moments was when I wheeled up my first track live haha! Having the crowd scream and shout and beg me to start the song again, then seeing them go crazy when I did?? Insane. Undescribable feeling, honestly. With ‘Dance With the Don’ on the horizon at Boxpark in London, what can attendees expect from this event? Are there any special preparations or surprises you have in store?Attendees can expect high energy from the beginning to the end, fun mixing, great song selections, big vibes and a lot of dancing. One thing I love to do is interact with the audience, make sure people are feeling welcomed, and also dance like nobody’s watching! This is a safe space to feel the music unashamedly, it’s not a dance competition – it’s a space to let your hair down and have some wholesome honest fun!In terms of preparation, I’ve been stretching and taking my cod liver oil to keep my joints nice and lubricated haha. All you’ll need is an open mind and open heart to enjoy the night!Get your tix for the event here.Share this:Click to email this to a friend (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Tumblr (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pinterest (Opens in new window)RelatedIF YOU LIKE WHAT YOU'VE READ HERE AND WOULD LIKE TO GET MORE THEN WHY NOT SIGN UP TO OUR NEWSLETTER FOR MORE INFO AND SPECIAL OFFERS!* indicates required
