With the arrival of Apple’s VR headset, a new app from the creators of the popular ‘djay’ software has been introduced. Users can mix and scratch on 3D decks, entertaining a virtual dance floor.

Algoriddim’s ‘djay’ and ‘djay Pro’ are enormously popular applications, compatible with Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android-powered devices. Now, Apple’s VR headset has been added to this list, as an app featuring a 3D version of the djay controller interface plus integration with Apple Music has been launched. DJs can navigate through their music collection and mix using hand gestures, with various virtual spaces available to mimic the atmosphere of live performances.

However, there is a caveat for us in the UK: the Apple Vision Pro is not yet available here, and when it does become available, it is expected to have a price tag of approximately £3,000, depending on the storage capacity. Despite the hefty price tag, the fact that Algoriddim has already developed software for this new VR headset highlights the company’s forward-thinking ethos. While waiting to DJ in virtual reality, we highly recommend trying out djay on your iPad, desktop, or smartphone.
