Sho Gabi Presents ‘MIX IT UUUP’

Our mix of the week is a must here open-format set. Sho Gabi skillfully blends multiple genres to dazzling effect! Here’s what Sho has to say about it:

My inspiration for this first mix primarily stems from the baile funk culture, alongside my friends and my love for grime. I fell in love with it as soon as I moved to London. The UK music scene is incredible! I can vividly remember when it all started: Carnival 2015. I was in the crowd and heard “Shutdown” by Skepta. It all began there! Hours and hours of listening to music and discovering new gems on SoundCloud helped me build this mix. The love I have for my friends also heavily inspired my mix. They all have different styles and listen to different music. I picked my favourites and, of course, added my grime touch to it. From baile funk, grime, dubstep, French rap to trap, and Jersey club music, to name a few! This is why I decided to call my first mix “MIX IT UP.”
