Traxsource Introduces AI Labeling+What DJs Need to Know

Traxsource is launching an AI transparency initiative to show buyers exactly how tracks on the platform were created. Starting today, the digital download store is implementing a four-tier classification system to categorize music based on AI involvement.

The store is also actively removing fully AI-generated content from its platform. For DJs who prioritize authenticity, crate-digging on the site will now include clear visual markers on releases, search results, and charts.

The Four New Badges

Every track on the platform will now display one of four coloured badges:

Human Made (Green H): Music verified to be created entirely by humans.

AI Assisted (Purple Star): Tracks flagged for using AI-assisted creation tools during production.

Inconclusive (Amber Question Mark): Tracks that have been scanned but cannot be definitively verified as either human-made or AI-assisted.

Not Scanned (Grey Hyphen): Music that has not yet been processed through the system.

The initial scanning phase covers music released back to November 1, 2025. Traxsource plans to expand this scans retroactively to cover all music released from January 2025 onward.

How the Tech Works

To handle the scanning process, Traxsource partnered with two independent AI detection firms, SoundPatrol and SH Labs. Because automated detection systems are not infallible, a dispute mechanism has been established for artists and labels who wish to challenge a badge assignment.

Disputes must be submitted directly through the Traxsource label system or via a distributor to ensure validity. When a badge is contested, Traxsource staff manually review the audio and can run additional scans through alternative detection providers. Producers may be asked to supply project stems, multitracks, or video evidence of their production workflow to confirm human authorship. The platform aims to resolve these reviews within one to five business days.

What This Means for Your Crate Digging

For working DJs, this update brings a new layer of data to music programming. If you market your sets around human musicianship, these badges remove the guesswork from your purchases.

The system goes live automatically as of today. Buyers will see these labels site wide across all standard browsing and shopping functions immediately.
