Connection and community is at the heart of everything that MI/EN does. A sponsored artist under the Pioneer DJ / AlphaTheta ‘Start From Scratch’ programme, MI/EN is throwing her debut event at Club Makossa on 12th December – together with her good friend and B2B collaborator Pableeto.

Kosmic Kommune is about connecting people through sound and creating good vibes. MI/EN and Pableeto met on a night out several months ago, and decided to join forces to launch an event that celebrates friendship, community and great music.

Expect electro dance beats, uplifting progressive trance, and psychedelic techno – plus a little surprise.

The 3 day 1 on 1 course was amazing. A real eye opener on how to fully use my controller (Pioneer DDJ SX2) and Serato DJ. Jay showed me how to use iTunes properly for playlists and how to organise my music, which I was having issues with. I was using Serato crates but after seeing the iTunes side I have changed to this method. Terry was great at showing me how to scratch and was really patient whilst I got the hang of it. Overall a great experience and will definitely book some sessions in the future.

The 3-day course by OTR is the perfect way to start DJ'ing from scratch. I've always loved music, but had never even touched a pair of decks. After the course though, I have the ability & tools to already create my own mixes with practice. Not only are Jay and Terry so knowledgeable about their craft, and flexible with scheduling, but they are also great fun to spend time with. My advice to anyone wishing to learn - don't waste time looking anywhere else!

I took part in the 8 week DJ course with Jay and Terry. I'm a complete beginner and probably a little older than the average starter to be honest. I picked up far more than I expected to. Both the guys are very experienced and incredibly helpful when it comes to imparting knowledge and even tailoring parts of the course to the requirements of each individual. They touched on much of the core fundamentals and delved into plenty of advanced fields as well. All in all I couldn't be happier, and once I've had time to practise and get myself up to scratch I'll definitely be back to do some one on one classes.
