No, this is not clickbait. Soundcloud suffered a massive data breach, affecting about 20% of its users in December 2025.
This includes 30 million unique email addresses and other private data.
According to Cyberpress, Fire Compass, Have I Been Pwned, and other reputable security sites, Hackers were able to exploit weak API authentication and Emails embedded in public soundcloud profiles. They made extortion attempts before leaking the data in January 2026 on the dark web.
One good piece of news is that no passwords, financial data, or DMs were compromised.
If you think you might have been hacked, you can check the Have I Been Pwned website, set up two-factor authentication on SoundCloud, and change your password details. Do this as soon as possible. It may also be prudent to remove any emails in your profiles.
