TikTok rolls out new streaming platform, SOUND ON Tariq March 13, 2022 Blog, NewsTikTok has begun the roll out of its new streaming platform, SOUND ONThe announcement comes as TikTok inches closer to making some serious inroads into the music distribution space.Musicians and producers can now expect to receive royalties from any ByteDance-owned platform (not just TikTok) for an unlimited time. Importantly, this includes the video app, CapCut and South Asian music streaming app, Resso. This means UK and international artists will be able to monetize their work as well, through a new global redistribution system.SoundOn is taking a unique approach to payouts. They will give 100% royalties to creators for the first year, then gradually dropping it down to 90%. SoundOn is not the only distributor that offers this, though. There are a number of competitors out there, such as TuneCore and DistroKid, that do have charges on a per-song or album basis.Interested in signing up?
