Bandcamp Live gives artists a new avenue for streaming gigs and crucially enables artists to monetise these streams and offer incentives such as music and merchandise to sweeten the deal for fans. There’s already some listed streams on the site that can be pre-ordered. According to the site, a laptop and reliable internet connection are all that’s needed to go live and fans can interact via the live chat.

So, a similar set up to Twitch and You Tube but specifically for music creatives. The extra revenue stream can’t be a bad thing with the added bonus of your music, clothes and stickers already tied in. Seems like a win-win situation and something the music community will be fast to adopt.
