Revisit The Proto Dubstep Era with Littlefoot and Olinotollie

If you’re looking for something a bit niche for your weekend raving, you might want to hop over to Movers in Nottingham on February 26th for ‘138 Trek: an early-dubstep, nu-dark swing & 2-step garage journey’, a ‘early dubstep & nu-dark-swing night’ hosted by Littlefoot & Olinotollie.

The night includes a free film screening, the film being screened is not named but Given the theme of the night, you can assume that it will be related to early dubstep. According to the official blurb for the night, this is what you can expect:

138 Trek traces a path through the darker corners of UK dance music, pulling from early dubstep, nu-dark swing and 2-step garage.

Expect swung rhythms and low-lit pressure, drawing on the lineage of labels and artists that shaped the sound – from El-B’s foundational grooves and Dark One’s shadowy garage to the early Hyperdub era, Burial’s nocturnal textures, and the restless energy of Kode9 and DJ Zinc.

A journey through bass weight, space and swing, built for heads and late-night movement alike.
