Record label of the week- Tru Thoughts

Our record label of the week is Tru Thoughts, a multi genre independent label based in Brighton since 1999

Tru Thoughts is home to some of the biggest names in Leftfield dance music and continues to put out regular new releases in Soul, Dub, Reggae and Broken Jazz by artists from across the globe.

Bonobo’s debut album came out on Tru Thoughts and other notable artists to feature on the label include Zed Bias and Flowdan.

Our favourite roster artist is West London’s WheelUp who has forged a signature ‘broken beat’ style with Jazzy overtones. Find out more about the label here

Guys, I wanna thank you personally for taking on board everything I explained in our first phone conversation's and nailing every aspect of what I wanted to achieve. You both knew exactly what I needed to get me over the mental block I had with my scratching style, and having Jon1st as my teacher was a honour and .....well, sick!! His teaching style and ability to simplify and brake down patterns,routines and juggles made it massively simple to understand. Just finished the production course at On The Rise and couldn't be happier! I was very nervous before starting, especially as I have no music background but the guys put me at ease straight away and my tutor Alex was fantastic and went through everything slowly and was happy to repeat sections to make sure I had grasped all the tools. I would recommend coming here to anyone looking to make a start in music production. Keep up the great work guys!
