Just For The Night #74 – Juhyeok

I had the pleasure of diving into a mix by Juhyeok, a Daegu, South Korea-based DJ for the Dust Dowi Soundcloud page, part of the ‘Just For The Night’ series.

Juhyeok, who’s part of the music crew Dibira, taps into a deep well of influences. His journey as a DJ started with a love for soul and funk sounds of the 70s and 80s,.

He’s clearly fallen down the rabbit hole of what he calls ‘cosmic house’, blending the futuristic with the familiar in ways that feel fresh and exciting.

When asked about the inspiration behind this mix, Juhyeok mentioned, “My first impression of this guest mix was ‘Acid & Cosmic, so I composed a set with house tracks which have those sounds.” And trust me, he delivers on that promise!

This set was delivered just before Juhyeok’s 18-month hiatus for compulsory military service. We look forward to his return to the decks.
