“I was truly inspired by the passion, talent, and resilience of the young artists I met at The WAYout Arts Project. Their dedication to their craft and their commitment to creating positive change in their communities is inspirational” Steve Mac In an inspiring endeavour, with the help of two music charities, a well-known dance music label and a UK dance producer Steve Mac, vulnerable homeless young musicians from Sierra Leone have created a remarkable new dance album “No Input No Output, with the first single ‘Go Harder’ dropping July 4th.
‘Go Harder’ is a perfect first release setting the tone, authentic and full of energy, think African Soca and Reggae style beats, with a rap flow from the artists Sola B, Sulcut and Mash P. All of whom were long term homeless in Sierra Leone from struggling family backgrounds. Each one’s lives have benefitted from the work of the charities giving them an outlet and guidance to create music.
The eleven-tracker has been made possible by Last Night A DJ Saved My Life (LNADJ) charity’s ‘Get Equipped’ project involving repurposing surplus DJ and production kit, plus other musical instruments, which are then donated to educational and community organisations supporting children and young adults worldwide.
In addition to full support by The WAYout Arts Project, a charity based in Freetown, Sierra Leone. A non-profit organisation dedicated to providing creative opportunities and support to young adults who have experienced homelessness, hardship, and adversity. Through music, film, and other artistic mediums, empowering youth to express themselves, develop valuable skills, and build brighter futures for themselves and their communities.
Further support has come in the shape of CR2 Records and CEO / DJ Mark Brown who has put the weight of his experience and label behind the project stating: ‘We are proud to be able to support the charities with every facility and channel we have here at CR2. We will do everything in our power to help promote and spread the news of this vital music initiative and help the world to hear it’.
The album beautifully encapsulates the journey and creativity of the young artists involved showcasing the diverse talents and the profound impact of music education. Through heartfelt lyrics, infectious rhythms, and Soulful Afro-house melodies, the artists explore themes of hope, celebration, and the power of unity to overcome adversity.
