New v1.0.3 Firmware available now for SC5000 Prime
This is the good news we have all been waiting for! Denon’s SC5000 Media player now reads any Rekordbox formatted USB, importing in all the cue and loop points with firmware update v1.0.3. When Denon DJ launched their new Prime series SC500 Media Player and X1800 mixer (read our review here) one of the most asked for requests was for better integration into existing Rekordbox database so DJs didn’t have to redo all their loops & cues, any finally it’s here!
This is huge news for DJs and a major step into cross-platform integration for technical riders. Now any DJ using rekordbox can simply turn up to a club and put their USB into the SC5000 and, depending on how many songs you have, it will import all the info into the player and stores it separately on the drive, according to DJ TLM you can expect around 1000 tracks to be imported per minute – it’s important to note this is still totally separate from the Rekordbox database and your USB will still function as normal in Pioneer kit.
As of 2 Nov 2017 we’ve not fully tested this out so more updates will follow but for now we’re excited Denon DJ are continuing to move in the right direction.
